Our Tools For Success
How we grow your child
We believe that all students can and will succeed if provided:
- Highly Effective Teachers
- A rigorous and viable 21st century curriculum
- Empowerment and support to succeed
Highly Effective Teachers
Research shows that teacher effectiveness is the single most important school-based factor in student success. Students who have highly effective teachers for three years in a row will score 50 percentile points higher on achievement tests than students who have less effective teachers three years in a row (Sanders & Rivers, 1996). Moreover, one set of research proposes that assigning great teachers five years in a row to a class of disadvantaged children could close the achievement gap between these students and their privileged peers (Hanushek, Kain, O'Brien, & Rivkin, 2005).
At GSFCA we work hard to help establish Highly Effective Teachers through assessing new tools to help them achieve classroom success.

Online Resources
Engrade is an educational technology company that provides online learning management system and educational assessment products to K-12 school districts. Engrade was founded in 2003 and later acquired by McGraw-Hill Education in January 2014. Engrade lets you easily see all of your upcoming homework, assignment scores, class grades, and attendance online as well as send private messages to your teacher.
GSFCA also uses various online educational solutions. Web based programs are not only used in the classroom, but also at home and in public libraries wherein students have the ability to log on and work on strengthening their educational skills. With online learning solutions, teachers are empowered to dynamically adapt learning paths to provide the appropriate curricula and degree of challenge as a student’s capabilities grow, or when a student falters.

Data Driven Instruction
Using Assessments, Analysis, and Action to guide teaching and growth.
Assessments
Using multiple assessments, we find out what your child knows, and what concepts they struggle with.
Analysis
Using the overall and individual Student results we find out what individual areas are strengths and weaknesses, both for the calss and the student, and put extra focus on those areas to help a child succeed.
Action
Every teacher develops action plans for the classes and students to help improve those areas that show in need. Each child is given a evaluation that shows their overall understanding of subject areas and given a goal to achieve in their next assessment with that score, so each child understands exactly what they need to strive for during the school year.
Measures of Academic Progress
Throughout the school year parents and teachers will conference and progress reports will be provided to keep up with real-time data on student growth or any areas of concern. These assessments allow us to see key instructional insights into our students.
